This author’s prose crackles off the page with wit and edgy dialogue where he allows his idiosyncratic but believable characters to speak for themselves in a cinematic vernacular. This award-winning author wrote short fiction, more than forty bestselling novels, and nine screenplays. He also wrote Westerns and Suspense Thrillers, several of which were adapted into films. His first bestseller didn’t appear on the literary scene until he turned 60. The Hollywood Reporter once ranked this author No. 2 on its list of “Hollywood’s 25 Most Powerful Authors” second only to Stephen King.
