The Rogues have been featuring guest authors on Rogue Reads since June of 2020 when we kicked off our first installment hosting John Gilstrap, Robin Burcell, Don Bentley and Joseph Badal. Since then we’ve hosted 45 shows with four authors each time, including: Walter Mosely, Lee Child, Heather Graham, Karen Dionne, Jon Land, D. P. Lyle, Lisa Gardner, Meg Gardiner, Hank Phillippi Ryan, Mark Greaney, Jeffery Deaver, and some of our own Rogues, Tracy Clark, Tosca Lee, Isabella Maldonado, Karna Small Bodman, Lisa Black and Jenny Milchman, just to name a few.
Granted, there has been a lot of inside info shared and publishing secrets dished, but the one thing that resonates most with the Rogue Readers are the guest author readings. From the beginning, we have asked our guests to choose an excerpt from their showcased novels to read out loud to the audience. Some authors are nervous, a few have declined to read, but most have willingly shared their work in a very personal way–reading a piece of their story to the audience.
It’s with great pleasure that we introduce our latest feature: Rogue Reels. These are clips from the Rogue Reads archives of the authors reading from their books. We hope it will make you want to go out and watch (or re-watch) shows from the Rogue Reads archives. No doubt it will spur some of you to go out and buy copies of the books to read. They are all wonderful. They’re all different. And we’re delighted to be re-sharing them with all of you.
First up, from New York Times bestselling author J.T. Ellison comes a taut thriller about one author at the pinnacle of her career, whose past threatens to destroy everything she has―and everyone she knows.
A great writer knows when to deliver a juicy plot twist. But for one author, the biggest twist of all is her own murder.
If you loved this clip and want to watch the entire Rogue Reads where J.T. Ellison appeared alongside Daniel Aleman, Pip Drysdale, and our own Tracy Clark, click here to (re)watch it on Youtube and stay tuned for more Rogue Reels!
