By Karna Small Bodman

In addition to writing thrillers like my latest, Protecting Jess, that was released a few months ago, I also write children’s picture books. The text of my new one, Stories of Jesus, that was just released a few weeks ago, was actually a poem I had written when my children were quite young. I wanted to tell them about the very first Christmas and the life of Jesus. The story is described as one that traces His life from the birth in Bethlehem to the creation of miracles, teaching children, and spreading love throughout the centuries. When read to children, especially at Christmastime, they will be delighted with the colorful illustrations and will learn about this inspirational man.
I showed it to our pastor who gave us this review on Amazon: “Karna Bodman’s book will create time when the little ones love to come, sit quietly, and learn of the love of Jesus. Her book charms with a profound sentiment of joy that will warm and open hearts to a love that will not let them go. A must for kids of any age!” Of course, I was truly grateful for his endorsement.

If you have children, grandchildren, or friends with kids and would like to get them picture books as Christmas gifts, there are many more you might want to consider. The first, This I Know came out a few years ago – a unique story about God’s fingerprints everywhere around us, in the beauty of trees, adorable animals, the power in the thunder and eternity in the night sky. It is still a bestselling book for kids in Grades 1 and 2.
Finally, The Christmas Owl, is a clever story about a little owl found in the world’s most famous Christmas tree – The tree at Rockefeller Center. When it is cut down, a brave woman rescues the little owl. Kids will love this one.
