Zoje Stage is the national and international bestselling author of Baby Teeth and Wonderland. Her latest novel, Getaway, described as “stunning” in a starred review from Booklist, will be published in August 2021. A former filmmaker with a penchant for the dark and suspenseful, she lives in Pittsburgh.

Getaway, August 17

A cinematic and terrifying new thriller about three friends who hike into the wilds of the Grand Canyon—only to find it’s not so easy to leave the world behind.

Imogen’s (who is the main character) favorite Grand Canyon drink & snack: hot chocolate; picking the M&Ms out of the trail mix.

Sandra Brown is the author of seventy-two New York Times bestsellers, including Thick As Thieves, Outfox, Tailspin, Seeing Red, Sting, Mean Streak, Friction, Deadline, and Rainwater. Brown has published over eighty novels and has upwards of eighty million copies of her books in print worldwide. Her work has been translated into thirty-four languages. She has served as president of Mystery Writers of America, and in 2008 she was named Thriller Master, the top award given by the International Thriller Writers Association.

Blind Tiger, August 3

1920 got off to a roaring start when Prohibition became the law of the land. But corruption, murder, mayhem, lust and greed are already institutions in the Moonshine Capitol of Texas, where a young widow, left destitute and alone, defies both the new lawman in town and the good ol’ boys who have ruled supreme.

John David Mann is the award-winning coauthor of 30 books, including 4 New York Times bestsellers and 5 national bestsellers. His bestselling classic The Go-Giver (with Bob Burg) won the Living Now Book Award’s Evergreen Medal for its “contribution to positive global change.” Steel Fear, his first novel (with former Navy SEAL Brandon Webb), releases on July 13. Iconic author Lee Child called it “sensationally good—an instant classic, maybe an instant legend.”

Brandon Webb is a combat–decorated Navy SEAL sniper turned entrepreneur who has built two brands into an eight–figure business. As a U.S. Navy Chief he was head instructor at the Navy SEAL sniper school, which produced some of America’s most legendary snipers.

Steel Fear, July 13

An aircraft carrier adrift with a crew the size of a small town. A killer in their midst. And the disgraced Navy SEAL who must track him down…

Finn is our novel’s hero/antihero. Finn has a thing for the water; if he were a superhero, water would be his superpower. He is a SEAL and water is his natural element. He moves like water. Drinks only water—doesn’t touch caffeine or alcohol. Doesn’t eat a lot of meat, mainly fish. His mainstays are fish and fruit; loves seaweed also. If you want to snack like Finn, try fried smelts, served with nori chips. Nori chips are super simple. Basically you cut nori (the sushi seaweed) into strips, oil them with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and bake until crispy.

To drink? Let’s leave Finn here and visit Brandon, my coauthor, who is a former Navy SEAL himself. (Good cook, too; we both are.) Brandon has a thing about great whiskeys. He’s done whole podcasts (I think, you’ll need to check) based on fine whiskeys. My suggestion: get him to give you some solid guidelines on making our show a whisky-tasting. I’m thinking a small plate of fried smelts and nori chips would go fantastically well with a nice smooth single-malt. It’s got Navy SEAL written all over it.

Brandon’s favorite snack is hummus and both pita chips and veggies and his favorite drink is vintage red wine or Pellegrino.

Our MC:

Jenny Milchman is the Mary Higgins Clark award winning and PEN/Faulkner nominated author of five novels of suspense. Her work has been praised by the New York Times, chosen as Indie Next Picks, received starred reviews from PWBooklist, and Library Journal, selected for numerous Best Of’s including Suspense MagazinePure Wow and Popsugar, and appeared on the USA Today bestsellers list (once, but we authors like to name these things). In 2013, Jenny rented out her house, traded in two cars for an SUV that could handle Denver in February, and pulled her kids out of 1st and 3rd grades to “car-school” them on what Shelf Awareness called the world’s longest book tour. Jenny now speaks nationally on the literal and figurative road to a dream.
